IBI & Virtue® Perfume
Sponsor - Miss Anaheim Scholarship Pageant
Anaheim, CA (March 12, 2007) – The world’s first spiritual perfume – Virtue® – was introduced this week by IBI, a niche fragrance company in Orange, CA. Its Premier launch was in conjunction with the local “Miss Anaheim Scholarship Pageant”, which IBI was one of the sponsors for the gala evening entitle “Hooray for Anaheim”, held at The Grove, in Anaheim, CA, Sunday, March 11, 2007. Doors open at 5:30 PM and the festivities began promptly at 6:30 PM. Stacie Ortiz-Davis, former Miss Anaheim 1994, and her husband David Ortiz, an award-winning journalist, hosted the affair.
“We considered it an honor,” said Ms. Vicki Pratt, President of IBI, “to have the privilege of supporting such a worthy opportunity for some of our community’s most promising young ladies to debut their talent, poise, beauty, and receive scholarship money toward their pursuit of education in their chosen interests. We can’t think of a better way to premier Virtue®, as a source of focused Inspiration, than a pageant designed to help young ladies put their best foot forward, showing courage, presence, grace, intelligence, compassion, talent, leadership and heart. Truly, it is an honor.”
A warm balmy evening welcomed all of the attendees as they entered The Grove, with the sun setting an hour later, than the evening before, due to this year’s unusually early time change. The evening was unseasonably warm making the evening attire, a more comfortable choice, without the usual coats and jackets associated with early March. Rick Larimore, CEO of IBI, after nearly 6 years of research and development, let his appreciation show, as he offered, “It seems fitting that Virtue® should have a perfect evening, at a perfect event, to debut our long awaited spiritually based fragrance.”
The evening was composed of two sets of contestants. 6 charming, young ladies ranging from 14 through 17 years of age competed for the title of Anaheim’s Miss Outstanding Teen - 2007. From the field of 6 contestants, a Miss Outstanding Teen and First Runner-up were chosen to represent Anaheim’s Teenagers at city functions throughout the coming year. The winner will also go on to compete for California’s Miss Outstanding Teen – 2007. This past years 2006 winner, Ms. Stephanie Narrows, represented the city of Anaheim, along with Miss Anaheim 2006, at some 65 functions.
The second line-up of 11 poised young ladies were the contestants for Miss Anaheim – 2007. A coveted honor going to a young lady the judges have determined to be the best to represent the City of Anaheim, CA, in the coming year, at the many city functions, and do the city proud in the Miss California Pageant. Our past year of 2006, has been graced by the lovely Krystal Sewell, whose poise left no one in doubt their last year’s choice was honored by her gracious presence. The city’s many opportunities to show her poised leadership on behalf of Anaheim, CA, was complimented by Ms. Sewell’s camaraderie with her Outstanding Teen partner, Ms. Stephanie Narrows, whom she praised as “a talented young lady”.
In addition to the interplay by the contestants, the evening’s entertainment was provided by Miss California - 2006, Ms. Jacquelynne Fontaine, who sang a touching operatic piece; Miss Summer Clark, California’s Miss Outstanding Teen - 2006 played drums (Summer the Drummer), and the Nonosina Polynesian Dance Groupe provided the evening with several outstanding presentations of Polynesian culture, expressed through dance and music.
Of course, the real treat of the evening came, when the judges showed their own talent for choosing the winners. Vicki Pratt commented that, “The choosing of Miss Leah Cecil, as Outstanding Teen – 2007, was certainly my choice, as well. Her harp piece was such a beautiful musical rendering of running water in a stream. What poise for a 16 year old!”
The crowning honor of the evening went to Miss Chasta Nechvatal, age 19, an undergraduate at California State University Long Beach. “Her Tahitian Dance electrified the audience!” commented Mr. Larimore. “Of all the performances I’ve seen of Polynesian Dance, I have never seen anything that compared. It was an enlivening and uplifting, inspired performance.” Miss Nechvatal will go on to represent Anaheim in the Miss California Scholarship Pageant – 2007, later this year.

The evening can only be said to be a masterful representation of Anaheim’s diverse culture and cohesive leadership. The evening’s honor goes to Ms. Sherry Cain, Executive Director of the Miss Anaheim Scholarship Pageant. Her talent for making the Pageant fun for the young ladies was apparently lauded by her grandchildren, who say she “makes fun happen”, and seemed to be echoed by all the young ladies, who have come under her wings in the past year. The evening’s Pageant was a reflection of Ms. Cain’s own leadership. The Pageants presentation showed a lot of heart and sensitivity to the community and the young ladies that were participating. The guiding hand of Miss Cain brought that heart forth.
Vicki Pratt made sure that all of this year’s contestants, Miss Anaheim – 2006, Anaheim’s Outstanding Teen -2006 and Ms. Cain received bottles of Virtue® Perfume. All of the staff received sample packets, as well. “It was wonderful to be associated with such a professional group and to see such excellence in young ladies coming from our community.” submitted Ms. Pratt.
